Taikoz at Mardi Gras

02 Mar 2019

Taikoz members Kerryn Joyce and Sophia Ang will bring excitement and power to the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Parade.
Taikoz are proud to partner with the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Choir for their 2019 parade float performance. The choir’s float is inspired by Japan where they will be touring for performances later in 2019.

The parade starts at 7pm, and the estimated time for the float to start the parade is 8.35pm with a completion of the parade by 10pm.

Sydney Gay & Lesbian Choir is a non-auditioned choir which welcomes members regardless of their sexual identity or musical experience. The choir is open to all – lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered, intersex, queer and our straight allies. A powerful symbol of diversity, inclusion and harmony, the choir has maintained a vital and visible presence in the history of Sydney’s LGBTQI community.

"Mardi Gras is a bustling extravaganza that brings Sydney to a standstill and shines a global spotlight on LGBTQI lives, culture, communities and creativity. With spectacular floats, thousands of participants, a veritable smorgasbord of glittering colour and dynamic shape, the parade showcases the glitz and glamour of our community.

Drag Queens, Dykes on Bikes, Sydney Lifesavers, community heroes and much much more, come together to produce what has become the parade that stops the nation. Expect colour, expect life, expect huge crowds of excited parade viewers lining the streets. Make your way to Oxford Street or Flinders Street early to secure a good spot!"

We hope to see you there.
