What a delight to be able to collaborate with such wonderful artists as Sandy Evans, Mohsen Soltani Zand and Chongwei Zang on our 20th-anniversary concert (October 21/Angel Place). Yesterday was a working session with Chongwei... Ryuji and Tom were put through their paces in a complex series of moves that shifts from a point of serenity to extreme physicality. Chongwei is such a deft mover himself... he makes everything look effortless. He's been so responsive to the music and ideas behind the programming - these are the moments that we, as artists, live & work for.
