Over the course of its nearly 20-year history, Taikoz
has built a large repertoire of works for taiko, shakuhachi, shinobue,
percussion, voice and dance. Ranging from the sheer explosiveness of the full
ensemble to the meditative intimacy of the bamboo flutes, small gongs and
mallet percussion, Taikoz In Concert is specially programmed for venues of
various sizes, program contexts and durations.
Music: Various composers
"Thunderous rhythms crack, splinter, somersault and hurtle into the air, creating a magnetic hypnotism. Waves of rhythmic invention, born of gymnastic grace and primal ecstatic energy." – Herald Sun
"You don't just listen to this music. You see it and feel it, too. Totally compelling." – Sydney Morning Herald
