TAIKOZ SUMMER INTENSIVE | 17-19 January 2025
We’re going to sweep away the cobwebs and freshen ourselves up and get ready to meet the challenges of 2025. How? Simple… we’re going to focus on the essence of what we do best: Tai 太 – ‘big, fat, around’ – Ko 鼓 – “drum”!
To bring the ‘intense’ into ‘Intensive’, nine sessions will be devoted to various taiko styles, such as Katsugi-okedo (slung drums), Odaiko (grand drums), Naname-daiko (slanted style drumming), as well as many other fun treats.
To kick us off, there will be “Odaiko Uchikomi-geiko” (drumming up a storm on the Grand Drums) on Friday evening, followed by four 90-minute sessions on Saturday and again on Sunday. Both days will begin with warm-ups in Wentworth Park, weather permitting.
For relaxation, we’ll enjoy a meal together on Saturday night. And then when we're all totally exhausted, post-Intensive drinks on Sunday evening.
We’re already looking forward to seeing you in the New Year!
